We celebrate The Lord of the Rings on our tabletops in this special issue of Tabletop Gaming. There are few authors who have contributed so much to a single genre of fiction than Tolkien has to fantasy, and fewer better represented genres on our tabletops than fantasy. It could be argued that we wouldn’t even have Dungeons & Dragons without Tolkien.
